can i use a different ecm

my 98 mustang needs a different ecm can i use one out of a newer car? I have a sniper tuner to turn off the pats, thanks

have you tried calling Colorado Mustang for a ECM for your 98? Give them a call!

you should be able to disable the PATS system with a tuner, try contacting your tuner.

it will disable it but it still needs to comunicate with the system it just does not keep it from starting but the pats system still needs to work.

I'd disable it completely and be done with it. Just spend 99.99 and get a little GPS locator for your car and hide it underneath.

even disable it still has to be there in the computer to still work the ecm goes through a system of checks and even disabled it still checks to see if it is there it doesnt care about the programing but the circuitry needs to work.
