gas will always be worse in an auto, yes there are autos with better gas mileage and some add ons. compare 2 cars with everything the same with one auto and the other mt, mt always wins.

Ok, so based on these findings... the top speed is higher with stock gears then with 4.10's? ???

I don't understand what your infatuation with top speed is. Do you live in Utah or something? Do you plan on taking you Mustang to the Bonneville Salt Flats?

tire size was included...stock tire and rim size...figure out the math and plug in your tire size if it's not stock...otherwise, this was a great write up.

so am i reading right that the 327 is the fastest gear set up then why is it harped to do the 373? tq maybe?

in the most general terms the fact of the matter is that the lower the gearing...i.e say 4.10s will give better acceleration than higher gearing i.e. 3.27s......however the higher gearing will allow for higher speeds.....given many equivalent factors...stay constant. thing is that the gearing that people love is mainly due to the love of drag racing....yet a top speed challenge would require different thoguht and gearing.
