2v to 4v conversion and a 281 to 302 stroke..
What all would i need to stroke my engine out to a 302? I know crankshaft pistons and rods but is there anything im missing?
Also, what exactly would i need to convert from a 2v to a 4v? Otherwise buying a 5.0 4v is like 15k, and thats more than i bought my car for =P. Im trying to figure this out because this is my future plans for the car but i want to build up to it, so i want to know what ill be keeping cuz i dont want to buy a polished intake or anything like that if im going to have to just buy a new one when i swap out for the DOHC stuffs. |

a whole other dohc engine is what you would want to get that way you have everything its alot cheaper to do it that way.

Ok, so i should buy a cobra engine, but thats going to be like 3k or so with miles =X, even if i dont want to pay for the supercharger, its still expensive. And its a headache in a half with all the electronic stuffs isnt it? I dont really want to disable my PATS or whatnot either.
I also dont care if its cheaper to buy a whole new engine, its more practical for me to stroke mine out and get the 4v cylinder heads and timing parts. A 5.0 cammer engine costs about 15k, a 4.6 cammer engine costs 6k, i can stroke mine out for about 1.5-2k with forged parts and i figure getting everything that i would need to change mine into a DOHC would be about 3.5-4k, or so im told. |

no shit really? its going to be alot of money, a cammer is going to cost you no matter what way you do it. just read up on the 4v swaps. it is cheaper easier and faster to buy a 4.6 dohc engine it doesnt have to be a termi engine if all you want is parts. it would be alot cheaper to buy the engine and use the timing and block accessories. then swap all the parts you want around, and its not practical to stroke yours and swap 4v parts on to it. its more practical to get a frpp block and place all the 4v parts from a donor engine onto the new block, considering if you read up on the swap you would learn that the 4.6 sohc block needs to be modified to work. so read up and just buy a dohc engine.
