effin heat

As i think i might have mentioned before, i was told i might get orders sometime this month or soon afterwards. im kindof concerned about the car. as we all know the blown termi engines make alot of heat. and the car still has the factory heat exchanger and intercooler system. if i have to drive an extra long distance to my next base in the bad desert area heat, do ya'll think the car will do alright?

i've driven it about an hour before in the heat of mid-day, 100+F, and the temp. gage never went up past where it normally does (which makes me wonder just how accurate that gage is). i just hope she'll do alright driving two hours at a time.

Itll be alright , My buddy has a Lightning and he drives his 50 + miles a day and its been over 100 all month here. But my advice to you to stay on the safe side it to get a new heat exchanger or get that blower ported. Both of these two = safer and lower temps and more HP!

You'll be fine man... If your guage doesn't move driving it further won't make a difference. It is actually better for it moving on the free way then in stop and go traffic. It will all ways have air moving through the intercooler/heat exchanger.

And just don't drive the piss out of in on the trip if your still worried

the stock set up is made to take the heat and is normal. a friend f mine has a termi also, its hot enough under the hood to bake a pie. atleast run a product like watter wetter, 40 below, or something like that to help with the cooling of the heat exchanger.

if the car is stock then why are you worried about heat? It's supposed to be that way, if it's stock it's made for any kind of road conditions and will last a very long time as long as ya don't beat the hell out of it every chance ya get to.

ummm........is that a serious question??? lol. why am i worried about heat? why would i not be worried about heat? if i have to move i'll have to do some desert driving for sure where there will be places with no help anywhere near by. and isn't heat the worst enemy of engines.

and just because the cooling system is stock doesn't mean it will perform flawlessly in any weather conditions with normal driving.

I have never seen a car come off the assembly line with cooling issues ever unless there was a malfunction of a device, if everything is working properly you won't have any issues. Do you think they just throw the car together and say yeah that should work I hope nobody lives in the desert and buys one of these though... There is all kinds of technology put into cars so they maintain for out years being stock. I don't know about you, but I would expect a car that was 40k out the factory to handle any kind of road conditions.
