What would you do?

Feel free to reply with your answer and the reason behind it if you could...

If you had 10 grand to spend would you buy a 96' GT (Exhaust, CAI) for 5,500 and put the other 4,500 into that car, or would you just buy a 00' or 01' GT (Stock)....??

Im just wondering what you guys would do so it might help me with my decision...Thank You for your responses ahead of time.

Dont know, I like both of them, but the 99+ do look a little more manley to me lol but I still like both of them, I dont really care which one...I prolly would buy the 96 if that 4500 could make it faster then the 00-01, I like power...Just wondering what you guys would do, maybe some ideas out there I havent thought of....

well u would have a faster car if u bought the 96 GT and dropped 4500 into her.

Hell, u could even squeeze a blower out of that 4500.

or go full bolt on....., or go blown then save a little and go full bolt on.

but u also have to keep in mind a 99+ mustang with the same mods as u is gonna dust u...

I'd go with 00-01. However, you could make the 96 faster with that 4500, but I bet you will wind up spending some of that 4500 on body mods to make the 96 look meaner, where as you said the 00-01 look mean already.

hey, i thought the later 2v are the same with just some different heads and such, id probobly go with the 96' and do heads, full exhaust, intake, intake manifold. Then see how much money you have and squirt 125hp with Nitrous

Not if he does a PI swap! I vote for the 96. I will have 300 HP for less than 4500 bucks and that includes custom cams, PI heads ported and polished, PI intake, Longtube headers, and everything else to get the swap done with a dyno tune for less than 4500, and you will be quicker than any 99-04 GT that is close to stock, and what you have left, can etier go to a nitrous kit or IMO the best option is a nice suspension

Personally, I would get an 02+. The reason is the body style. You may wonder why I wouldn't get a 00-01. Those 00-01's have some funny shit going on. You may get one with a Romeo motor or a Windsor motor. You might get a 6-bolt crank or you might get an 8-bolt crank. It just seems to me that these years were utterly confusing for Ford.

A customer service representative at Procharger told me that Ford changed the way they cast rods in 2001. That is why they recommend up to 12 lbs of boost for the '99-'00s and only 8 lbs of boost for the '01-'04s.

I like both of the body styles. It really is a matter of personal choice. I like the the '05-07 exterior the best, but I don't care much for their interior.

matt, i think u need to reread all this.....u of all people should know that a 96 gt with a PI swap +full bolt ons is gonna lose to a 99+ with the same mods as the 96PI swap. We weigh almost 150lbs more....

+1 on the 99+ - In my opinion, much better body style and probably has been ragged on a lot less down through the years.
