I dont let mine get past a 1/4 . If you stomp the gas with a small amount of fuel in the tank,it could start throwin other codes.

Fryrice, not saying your wrong here, just disagreeing, because of somethings I been thinking about.

Im gonna disagree with this post after somethinking at work today.
If what your saying is true, then changing the fuel filter would set a code also, because it gets air in the line.
And I know someone is gonna say thats why you prime the fuel pump before you restart the car. Ok then were does the air go, if its not trapped in the system? From what I can gather all that does is fill the lines back up with fuel and mixes with the air, thus causeing tiny air bubbles in the fuel. You dont usually notice it because its small air bubbles and not a huge air pocket.

I cant find the exact code right now.

Basically it had to do with having almost no gas in the tank, and then accelerating hard. That shifts the contents of the tank and can cause the car to run lean momentarily . If that happens the car can throw a code sometimes. Its sometimes called "sloshing".

I have an entire list of codes. But then you gotta decipher it. But that was my point above.

make sure that your gas cap is on good. i got a check engine light and i hooked up my scanner and it was an e-vap code and all i needed was a new gas cap and the light went off after 4 days and never came back on.
