High performance automatic?
I am looking for a high performance (450+hp) mustang with an automatic transmission. Better yet a paddle shift gearbox type, but I'm not going to push my luck. Right now I'm considering an '08 Shelby GT vert with a s/c, 462hp. But what are my other options? Does Roush, Saleen, Foose, etc. make such an animal that's readily or somewhat readily available? Something under $70k would be nice. Before I'm run off this board, understand that this is for my 67 y/o father, he's raced all his life and currently drives a Mercedes SL65 (604hp with paddle shifter), he has no interest in a clutch.

the shelby is a great car, but it is a rarity car. you want power, go with a 3v and put on what you want to. lighter, heads flow really well, takes great to boost, and handles quiet a bit of power. yes there is the rousch stg 3, saleen s/c 281, saleen extreme, parnelli jones edition, etc. what is the ultimate goal? speed or rarity? does rarity matter?

Yes, rarity matters, I don't want to just mod a GT. These you listed are available as automatics?

Go to their web sites. They should tell you what they offer.
