od light

So, yesterday i was driving downt he highway, and out of nowhere my o/d light started flashing. now im noticing the car shifting a bit harder, and acting funny... im hoping to god im not going to need a new transmission, but am thinking maybe possibly its a valve body problem? any ideas would be helpful. This is a 1999 Mustang GT, automatic Trans.

Make sure ur battery or alternator is not failing or both i had similar issues with the TCS and the OD like randomly flashing and illumination and 3 days later my alternator bit the bullet. after replacement no issues at all.... low voltages or massive fluctuation cause the pcm and tcm to shit its pants.

od light flashing usually indicates that the od foward control valve is sticking cause a pressure problem in the trans
