Car Diets

So I have been driving around with my friends lately. They all have the Srt4s, Rsx-s, cobalt ss's. Now I drive my car and it feels like an abosolute tank.

What is out there to lighten up the car. Both mods and free mods. However, I also wanna leave in some of the practical stuff for a daily driver ( AC/ seats/ stereo)

Not possible. Unless you are willing to swap out your seats with race ones and pull your back seats all together. Convert your suspension to tubular pieces and replace body parts with carbon fiber or fiber glass (your hood specifically). Convert your engine to Aluminum. There isn't anything cheap or simple aside from pulling that back seat. Our cars weigh in at 3800 dry. Its just not light. Its a drag car by design, not a track car. Its the way it is. Buy some stiff springs and sway bars, she'll out turn any of those light weight imports.

The above cost but here's some that don't cost much or nothing at all.

Remove the rear spoiler, spare tire with jack.

Everything counts including how much gas is in the tank, how much you weigh and the passenger(s) if any.

Gas is 6.0 Lbs per gallon @ 15.7 tank = 94.2 Lbs minus fill tube.

Often over looked... Ford racing ultra-light aluminum driveshaft, 7 quart aluminum oil pan, Aluminum girdle

See a trine here?

Those things will save weight, but not that much in the end. To get the differance he is looking for, He will need to lose 500 pounds. Not an easy number. The aluminum pieces will help with the over all weight and the acceleration. Which is a double win, plus the new drive shaft will be stronger. You just have to know that our cars can't get that low in weight without some serious weight reduction and there by, stripping.

your car doesn't weigh 3800lbs.

and try going on a diet and taking a shit before you race, every little bit helps.

these cars are pigs, even if you want them to loose serious weight its gonna cost ya big time. You have a mustang, this is part of owning a mustang and a v8 car.

my car weighs 3180 without driver with prostars, with no rear seat, no trunk interior, no spare or jack, nothing that is needed. the front seats are stock and still have all carpet in the cab, but the trunk is completely scrapped of anything but the nitrous bottle.

oh yeah, when you pull all that shit out, youll be able to hear every creak and rattle in the whole car. its annoying to drive for more than 45 miles or so. its loud, if you have a loud exhaust, your gonna have it all right in the back of your head. its annoying but part of losing weight to go faster
