rear end locking up


I have a stock 98 mustang gt 4.6L. And the rear end is starting to lock up. My spider gears are pretty wore out. What kind of vehicle can I go get all 4 spider gears from?

it's an. 8.8. You can get the differential from vehicles including rangers, broncos, f-150's, mustangs, and t-birds. I'm forgetting a lot. although there are many variations of gears, Limited Slip, Trak-lok, open ect.

Yea but outta all those which one cane with 28 spline with limited slip? I'm just trying to get away with just getting the spider gears without paying $300 for a whole rear end lol.

The F150/Bronco 8.8" is a 31-spline carrier. The MN12 (Tbird/Cougar) 8.8" is a 28-spline carrier, but has bevel-cut side gears for the halfshaft circlips (they will work in a solid axle setup though). The '99 Cobra and '93-98 Lincoln Mark 8 fall in with the MN12 here. Most of the Ranger 8.8" axles are 28-spline, though there are a few cases where the 31-spline Torsen was used. Explorer 8.8" axles are 31-spline.
