Lowering springs on Monroes

Hi there,

I just changed my stock ford shocks to new Monroes sensatrac. I was wondering if i can put on them ford racing springs to lower the car.
I know that usualy ppl put performance shocks to go with their springs like the like of Tokiko Eibach (set) etc...

And how do you rate the Sensatracs? Iknow they are not high performance shocks but they are way better than stock.

Regards

I have a 02 GT.

I dought the stock ones were Monroes. I think they are ford made shocks. Unless Monroe OEM to Ford without any logos on the shocks.

Mine are Monroe Sensatrac also. Oh and my rear wheels are on backwards, because I just realized that the rotation arrow is pointing the wrong way. Anyone know if it's bad to leave them like that???

I'd switch them. The tread is facing the wrong way.

Does it make much of a difference though??? Or will it make them wear faster???

I'd image a quicker wear on them. And traction in the rain will most likely decline.

If I switch them though, the tread on the tires will different because on one tire it will be going >>>>, and the other side will be going <<<<<. So I think AM might have mounted the tires wrong or something. I think thats why I put them on the car wrong.

I would, but they won't come to my house, and I can't afford to be without a car right now, so I wouldn't be able to send them back.

monroe makes the shocks and struts for the oe manufactures. they in my opinion are some of the best shocke/struts on the market. I actually prefer them over the kyb that was on my car and if i remember correctly the specs are better for them for heat and discharge.

Interesting indeed. Yeah i researched monroes and yes the do make oem for ford...Basicaly its the same as the Sensatrak.

So adding some racing springs to them isnt a bad idea after all.

thats the way most major manufactures are with supplying oe makers. My warehouse supplies the ford dealers in the area and we send all sorts of parts to them

The wear problem don't matter to me, because I barely drive my car more than 50 miles a week.

they are designed to give more grip while braking when going forwards (when ran in the "right" direction). But in trials your tires usually slip when there are forces pulling you backwards (ie hopping up a steep hill) or when accelerating, so the forces work also backwards
