you don't have enough power to make it to your top speed even if you get 4:10's

I've got the stock 8.8 with stock 28-spline axles and 4.10s and im making way more power than stock and i haven't had any issues...

With larger 31-spline axles the 8.8 will handle A LOT of power..

With 9-in ends and some 33-spline axles...I cant see you breaking the 8.8 on the street or even the track really...I've seen cars with 800-1000hp setup like this running DRs.

A 9" rear isn't all that necessary.. Unless you're car's jus a torque monster and u beat on it hard..

As a general rule, i'd reccomend upgraded to bigger spline axles when you reach the point where you require some internals. Assuming your car is a street car.

If its a track car and you're running sticky tires a built rear end and a capable tranny should be your top priority...They're usually the first to go.

It depends on a lot of things...I'd reccomend it be one of the first things you do to your car...Getting gears? You should get a nice locker differential and some hardened 31-spline axles to compliment. It's cheaper in the long run to have it all done at once.

Good Lockers:
Eaton Posi, Detroit Locker, Auburn Pro

AS for line locks i know hurst makes one and probably B&M

You dont really need one unless you need to lock your wheels to burn out. Most people just regulate the brake pedal and accelerator
