Going Blown....

I've come to the point in my life where i realized there's no way in hell I'm going to be able to get the power i want with all motor, so i've decided to go blown.

Right now my car has a PI intake and 4.10's. I plan on installing PI cams in the car, uprgrading my coil packs, plugs and wires, and if the SuperCharger application works with it, and accufab TB/Plenum combo. I have a catted x pipe and cat back in the works as well.

Now I'm not looking for numbers, guesstimates, or being told to just get nitrous. I only want to run 7-9 psi, and want to push about 350 to the wheels. I know thats possible with a good tune and my future mods.

Now what I need from you guys is a good cheap blower. I'm gonna do the work with a friend, and I will most likely already have the car dyno tuned before hand, so to retune it won't cost that much. I really don't want to spend more then 3k on a kit........and would prefer it to atleast have the fuel pump.......i can worry about injectors. I also would like the kit work with my PI intake manifold and maybe even an acuffab combo.

would i need to buy the kit for the 99+ if my car is 66% PI?

Unless you are running the 99+ engine front cover then no you dont want the 99+ blower...

Check around
www.modularpowerhouse.com
www.modulardepot.com

And other sites looking for used set-ups...I promise you that you can find a great deal on a blower set-up...I know someone that got their whole blower set-up (injectors, blower, boost pipe, MAF, fuel pump, all brackets, all lines and such) for $2600 shipped...You jsut ahve to look around...

you can get a brand new s-trim off vortech's website (the tuner kit) for like 2300 it doesn't come with a fuel pump and all but since you're willing to pay 3k I'm sure you can get one for 700 somewhere... but if I was to buy a blower I'd either go Novi 2000 which is gonna be expensive but it'll last ya a long time, and if it's just to have fun I'd go kennebell because I think it'd be a really fun s/c for road play but you know centri's will rule the 1/4 mile....

that first link didn't work Chris... it says it cant find products

vortech has been what i've been looking at, but was curious as to what will work with what. Xmas is rolling around, and I can make some huge money around then, and I don't want to accidentally by a blower that negates my current and future mods.

Also, is my rebuilt stock 28 spline with 4.10's going to be able to handle the constant extra stress?

not full on slicks, I'd go 31 spline axles to be safe on drag radials... do ya have subframe connectors also? what kind of mods do you plan on running?

stock pi cams? Why not go with something more aggressive if you're gonna go through the hassle anyways?

because to put something in more aggressive it'l require a lot of work. From what I've been told I'm not going to gain that much more power then i would using stock PI cams. The 15 extra horsepower isn't worth the 1000 bux it's gonna cost

1000 bux? you don't do the work yourself? if you're getting the supercharger soon then why not put the cams and the supercharger in yourself get it towed or trailered to a shop and then get it dynotuned and be set? I don't see how it wouldn't give ya more power then a stock pi cam... and if you ever put in better heads it'll really have a nice increase.

in order to put cams in the car we need to change the valve springs. cams ussualyy run around 5-600. That right there is around 8-900 bux. And i was told not to expect more then 20rwhp, the same numbers u could expect with PI cams.

why would people buy aftermarket cams if stock is the best then? lol, those gains are for a naturally aspirated car, you put a supercharger on it, it should be like double... to get the full effect of the cams you have to change your heads for the best increase but I still would rather have a mean loping car then just a regular one, but that's just me.

u misunderstood, npi aftermarket cams only net results similiar to that of stock PI cams. in order to put a aftermarket PI cam in the car, it's gonna involve doing something more money and time then I'm prepared to sacrifice for miinumal gains

A vortech may be cheap but damn that whistle. Make sure you hear one before you buy it. They are loud as hell and don't wanna be kept secret by any means.

I have a vortech with an aftercooler running a 3.1" pulley on my 96 GT convertable and you can hardly hear the whine. On the other hand my Expedition, also running the vortech w/aftercooler and a 2.95" pulley has a very pronounced whine.

My v1 s-trim is loud, I can hear it in the house while it's outside just idling away everybody tells me it sounds like a jet taking off.
