New Here and Have ?'s
OK I have looked through your forums and there is a ton of info here. However I am still looking for a few things. I have a 99 Crown Vic and a 85 Mustang. I am wanting to take the motor out of the 85 and put the motor out of the 99 in it. The Vic I have is running and drives and all I am just wanting to pull the tired 5.0 and go to the 4.6. I have been looking around the net here and I stumbled across this site. I know that a lot of you are going to say just keep the 5.0 however I think that it is time for a change. I am wondering
1) How hard this is going to be. 2) What all am I going to need to do this. Thanks in advance. Dan |

Welcome to the forums! Even though I am unable to answer this question, I'm sure a few people here can. Once again, Welcome.

crown vic is a 2v. you will need to chang the k-member, wire harness, exhaust, all electircal for motor, bell housing on the trans or change the trans, cross member & dirveshaft if you do trans, and not to sure about the power steering pump and rack & pinion. i know there are a couple other things i forgot, but thats a good start.

It is the 4 valve DOHC Motor. It is in a ex-cop car. I got the whole thing for $1000 it runs and drives GREAT. He sold it to me for so cheap due to the fact that he was not going to be able to make his house payment... his loss my gain. I am really no diggin the 5.0 anymore. I think that it is just tired and time for a revamping. I got the car in full tact and working order. Tranny, rear end, motor, and everything really is in great shape. I am just going to have one hell of a time cramming that motor and trans in my 85'.
HessiaN257...Thanks for the welcome. GTsetGO ...Yea it is a 4V. SWEET2KSTANG...Thanks for the start. I am also a member of MIGPC (Michigan Grand Prix Club) I posted there and asked for help and well benig a GM sight there were are few "mixed" emotions. I think that I am on to something here though: www(dot)modularfox(dot)com/ . There seems to be a handful of info there too. Thanks Again Everyone Dan

the crown vic did not come with the 4v, the p71 package is what they used for the cop cars and it still has a 2v

i still think it would be a worthy swap i love the 4.6 but before i put it in i would think if latter you will want to forge the internals.
