Insurance: only thing holding me back from a GT, haha.

What is the difference on insurance between a v6 and a GT for a 16 year old, male driver? I know no one will have exact numbers, just an estimate. My dad won't pay the insurance on a GT because he says its to high, so im going to throw out the almost full proof..."I'll pay the difference." haha.

Anyone have any numbers?

Cricket (moderator on here) had his insurance drop when he upgraded to a GT from his v6 and he's pretty young.

V6 versus GT doesnt matter at least from what ive read. The difference in insurance should be minimal if any at all.

Yeah don't think there's much difference there at least not enough to not go with the GT but it does depend on your record and the company.

im 16 and i pay $489.31 every 6 months for my 5.0

i was paying over $800 every 6 months with allstate, but after my dad called them and started bitching to them about something, they admitted that there are technically "2 allstate companies".. they only tell you about it if you ask.. by switching to the "other" allstate, we have saved right around $1,500 every 6 months

i know it sounds like im full of shit, but that's because i don't know all of the details about it..

i pay 650 a year, but i'm 30 and this is my 2nd car that i told geico i only drive on the weekend. i told them i will put 5000 miles per year and the insurance on my GT is less than my insurance on my mazda b3000 p/up. there are certain things you can tell the insurance agent to lower your premiums.

but if you drive more than you tell them you'll drive, if you ever get in a wreck and they check your mileage, you can and will be charged with insurance fraud

i sell insurance for a living and my advise is just go to your insurance company and get a quote! if you add on to your parents insurance you'll pay less than if you got yours by yourself! First, if someone is not a license insurance agent don't believe what they say, especially if they tell you they $63 monthly on full coverage on a mustang gt! also, know what type of coverage you are getting, some people think they have "full coverage" and only have liability!
