Exhaust Help?

I have an 01 Mustang that had a V6. I swapped it out and put a 4.6 in it. I've got it all hooked up except for Exhaust. I've got bbk short tube ceramic coated headers on it. I also live in a emissions county in GA. I want to make sure what i have to do from the header to the tips for it to pass emissions? I dont know if i can get away with out having the catalatic convertors or not? Dont want to spend the money on an h-pipe or x-pipe that doesn't have the convertors and then i need them on it. One last thing, with the stock h-pipe with convertors how will that affect the exhaust and headers i have for performance? I'm getting flowmaster 40 series catbacks for it. Thanks for all your help.

A stock GT catted h pipe will bolt up to the shorties. Go get it tested and then swap it out for a o/r x pipe until next year.

well obviously you need cats on the car to pass emissions! my stang dont even have a mid section, i just welded the flowmasters right to the cats, running straight pipes all the way out the back!! its true dual exhaust, its sounds good, but if ur looking for the mid section than i would probably get an x pipe! by the way no matter what u do to the exhaust without having nothing on them with just straight pipes, is going to make u lose hp, but the easy way is, less restriction on the exhaust, the more hp and gas mileage!!! good luck

Thanks for the help

Appreciate all the exhaust help, i think ill go with stock for the emissions and then just put the aftermarket one on until next year when i need to pass again.
