Exhaust Help?

I have an 01 Mustang that had a V6. I swapped it out and put a 4.6 in it. I've got it all hooked up except for Exhaust. I've got bbk short tube ceramic coated headers on it. I also live in a emissions county in GA. I want to make sure what i have to do from the header to the tips for it to pass emissions? I dont know if i can get away with out having the catalatic convertors or not? Dont want to spend the money on an h-pipe or x-pipe that doesn't have the convertors and then i need them on it. One last thing, with the stock h-pipe with convertors how will that affect the exhaust and headers i have for performance? I'm getting flowmaster 40 series catbacks for it. Thanks for all your help.
