2007 GT Wheels On A 96 Cobra? Will This Work?

Hey,

Sorry, but I want to make sure before I jump on this offer. There is a set of 2007 Mustang GT wheels with 235/55/17 tires on them for sale and I was wondering if these wheels would fit my 96 Cobra? The tires are 17", so I'm assuming it'd clear my calipers, but I have no idea about these new moon Mustangs, the S197. If someone could confirm they'd be a fit no problem, that'd be great, as these drag radials in the rain and snow aren't really working. The rear kicks loose if I think about simply changing lanes and do it too quickly.

I don't even care if they look dumb, it's a good deal and I'm trying to save money.

Thanks for any reponses anyone may provide.

They basically just look like Torque Thrust II, but by Ford. The classic look. At this point, I don't really care, just making sure I don't plunk down some change on something. At most the weather is iffy from December - February, and I need the car sometimes. That and I want to keep the chrome wheels, well, chrome and not pitting away from Chicago winters. (Not so much snow, but boy do we love salting!)

It'll work, but I don't know how it will look. Good luck, and I hope the mod turns out for the best.

Remember, if you get them on and don't like the look, then you can always sell them on Ebay and get your money back.

It was $150 for all of them with their tires. Sure, it'd look ridiculous (really didn't care for wheels that'd be on for 3 months), but I found a better option.

A man down the street has a 1996 Mystic Cobra Supercharged. He mentioned having a couple snow tires and wanting $100, they are both new.

Turns out I went down today and picked them up since he won't need them at all, I think he gave a pretty good deal, 245/45/17 Bridgestone Blizzaks. I've read nothing but praise for them, so hopefully they work better in the rain and very minor snow than Mickey Thompson Drag Radials.

Thanks for your help, at least I know for sure if I ever want to lose all taste in my car and abandon hope I can fit some S197 wheels on her.
