I drive my gt throughout the whole winter, since i'm 17, and its my only car. But if its horrible conditions out and I need to go somewhere, I use the mother's FJ Cruiser

I just had my winter tires put on and I'll throw extra weight in the trunk. But I'll use my 4x4 truck if the snow gets too deep.

or you can live in Houston like me and not have to worry about it. cause it's bound to be 70 degrees in the middle of Winter if no cold front comes in

I don't know yet. I bought my Mustang last fall and I learned very quickly why Mustang's have a bad winter reputation. The dealer had put new tires on it... Kumho High Performance Summer tires. I got stuck in one inch of snow in a parking lot and spun out in a corner that had some frost on the road. I ended up driving my truck anytime the tempature dipped below freezing. (Note: This was before the supercharger was installed.)
I researched the tires at The Tire Rack - Your performance experts for tires and wheels and found that they had an n/a (not applicable) rating for cold weather, light snow and ice. Virtually all of the high performance tires discussed on this forum have an n/a cold weather, light snow, and ice rating. I would wager that tires are the primary reason there are so many wrecked Mustangs in the winter. Since the snows normally do not get very deep in Indiana and I have a back up 4x4, for this winter I chose Continental ContiExtremeContact Ultra High Performance All-Season tires. It is Z rated and has very good dry road traction. After I put them on I went out and tried them. I really couldn't tell the difference between them and the Kumho's on dry pavement. Bridgestone Blizzak's have been reported as an excellent tire for deeper snow. P.S. All weather driving was the reason I chose the Procharger over a roots or twin-screw.

no need to worry about it here. if we happen to get that 1/4" of snow here, the area shuts down and nobody goes out.

LOL, I'll get pics now. It's actually in very good shape. I just need a new seal (leaking coolant) and I'll re-paint it to match the stang.... WTF!!!!

Cool.
Mine is rough around the edges, has a shitpile of miles on her, and the body is crap. But other than that, everything actually works on the old girl, the cruise, all the windows, locks, the AC, the power trunk....it even has a remote starter on it with keyless entry that still works. lol

![]() ![]() not a ding, but 1 month ago the AC compressor seized and the belt broke, damaging the seal. Easy fix. Everything works, everything! It will be my daily driver for the time the Stang is down, and then after.

It's just dirty and it needs some protectant/shine on that top and I'll be pimping...
On a separate note, winter is a killer for all cars period. That Salt and Sand gets the car destroyed in no time. That's why the re-sale value of northern vehicles is lower than southern ones. My 02 Lincoln LS looked like a 1985 century underneath, all rusted and busted.

![]() Yeah the north is hard on the cars. It's actually a wonder that the body on my Merc isn't worse off than it is after 19 years & 350,000km (1like 220k miles) of northern abuse. lol |
