2007 Shelby GT / 4.6

I Have A 2007 Shelby Gt Mustang With 6,000 Miles. I Noticed After The Car Sits For About At Least A Week It Gives A Puff Of Blue Smoke When Starting. The Oil Has Been Cared For And The Car Is Not Abused. Any Suggestions?

Hmmm...that's very strange for such a young car. My first thought is the valves seals, but that is typically an issue for 70,000+ mileage cars

it's just condensation in your exhaust.

it's normal.

^^condensation is white smoke...steam, blue smoke is oil burning. I'd take the car back to the dealer and have em check it out and run tests to find the problem while its still under waranty.

That sounds like your rings never took a proper seat - blue smoke means you're getting some oil leaking into the cylinders as the car sits.

Were you nice to the car when you were breaking the motor in?

I own a 07 GT and it did the same for the first 2000 miles and now it's OK, I figured it sealed in after the first oil change.

Still under warranty, just take it in. Those have been known for seal problems when not broken in "properly", which is hard to do on those cars.

Yo~ I have a 07 GT and i have noticed the same thing (like maybe twice) wtf!!! Im not sure if it was blue or white thou. I figured if I brought it to the stealer to check it out they would just say " Oh thats normal" she's got bout 9000 on her. What kind of checks will they do? just a comp hook up or what? Id feel stupid if it was just condensation(white)???

Did you get it checked out, or are you waiting to see if clears up and goes away?

I never beat on this car and it is showroom mint!!! It only happened a few times and it was strange because there was no sequence to it. If I had to guess I would say there was a little blue in it. All I know is I haven't seen it for at least the last eight or nine cold starts. Maybe the rings did finally seat. Works for me..............

Beating on it has nothing to do with it, although you will receive varying opinions on this. When I bought my new 07, I drove the snot out of it, and so far, 25,000 miles later, it's fine. It had the blue smoke on start up issue for the first little while, and then when the rings seated, it stopped.

I hope I'm right, anyway, and that your car is fine.
