LM1=sounds like crap
LM2=sounds awesome, similar to a magnapack

the LM1 is pretty much one of the loudest street legal exhausts you can buy; all noise and no tone.

the LM2 is a tiny bit qiueter then the LM1 but sounds AWESOME

SLP makes LM1, LM2, and Power-flow

LM1 is a straight through muffler and is really loud but doesn't sound very good IMO
LM2 is a straight through muffler and is almost as loud as LM1 but sounds awesome
Power-flow is a chambered muffler and is quieter then both LM1 & 2 and sounds alright, but there are better sounding, and louder, chambered mufflers out there

If you want louder than you might look into these

SLP Performance Parts - VIEW P/N: 31062

But before you jump, you may want to listen to some clips. Like Busher hinted at, the LM1 sound is not for everyone.

Im actually running LT headers and an O/R h-pipe and im scared either one might be too loud..

I've never heard any sound clips of the LM2s with LTs and mid-pipe. I've seen plenty LM1s and im not a fan. I'd consider the LM2 if i could hear em behind LT headers and a mid-pipe. Maybe even some cams..

That'd be perfecto.

Heres a sound clip of the SLP LM1's on a side exit Roush Clone! Stock headers and mid.... The video is a bit lame... but its what I have! Certianly doesn't sounds that bad!

I have LM1s on my car with the stock headers and cats and they sound awesome most of the time but when you let off the gas it makes a poping or odd gurgling sound. It did it with the old motor and the new one. The great thing about SLP products is I can just buy the lm2 mufflers (if you could call them that) and swap them out. All the products are interchangable.I am going to go with the slp catted midpipe next and it can be configured to work with stock, shorties or long tubes.

I love the popping and gurgling sound. I love deceleration more than acceleration just because I get to hear it.

I like it too but a buddy has a full exhaust ( I don't know what kind of headers, and a bassani midpipe and catback) on his termie and its probably one of the best sounding cars I ever heard.

If you have LM1's on a Mustang, you should have it taken away and you should be forced to drive an F body!

Sorry, that's just my opinion. I throw up a little in my mouth every time I hear an F- body with one.

I have a full SLP exhaust on my 2000 right now. And it sounds amazing. I have the long tubes, the x-pipe with high flow cats and i decided to get the powerflow mufflers just to keep the thing from being too loud. I know it sounds kinda stupid to intall quiet exhaust, but once it gets past 2000Rpms it just starts to scream and it opens up so clean its unreal. Theres no drone and it doesn't break up, it just screams. So dont be afraid to check out the powerflows too if you like a quiet low RPM cruise.

~by the way, i can't seem to keep my car in the low Rs no matter how hard i try . If i get a camera i'll try and post how it sounds
