3V Heads Onto A 2V Block?

I know you can not swap out the 2v Heads for 4V heads without a big head ache. But I want to know, can you swap out the 2V heads for 3V ones? Does anyone have any idea?

yes you can. Logan Motorsports - SCT Tuning has a kit. you just need to find the heads, cams, and intake. i talked to Logan Mot. and they said that you should have an experienced shop (with Ford mod motors...and they said very experienced) do it for you.

someone posted a video of it somewhere here on the forums

Does the variable cam timing work with that kit?

The kit consists of exhaust adapters so that commonly available 2V exhaust components can be used. It comes with a TB adapter to adapt a regular cable driven pre-'05 Cobra throttle body to the 4.6 3V Mustang manifold. There is also a fuel rail pressure sensor adapter so that the '99-'04 pressure sensor can be used in the '05 and up Mustang fuel rail. The only other thing needed is the Modular Camponents adjustable cam gears to eliminate the Ford variable valve timing. These can be purchased through Logan Motorsports or directly from Blow By Racing.

livernios advertises:

2v:
stg 2: int. 230@600 ex:197@600

3v:
stg 2: int: 305@600 ex:217@600

4v:
stg2: int: 320@600 ex:265@600

the 3v's flow very well and are comparable to the 4v's.

My price on 3v heads at the dealership was like $1000 each, those were new not remanufactured heads btw.

Its a ported set that you want. Are there any good intakes for the 3v? I can find some good ones for the 2v, but what about the 3v?

Is that with valves and cams or just bare heads

Stock is fine? What kind of numbers do those engines put out with a P&P and some stage 2 cams?

why not just get 4V cobra heads? they flow better, and would be cheaper. you can pick up a set from a 99/01 cobra form about 500 bucks shipped complete with cams, you would need valve covers, coil covers, coils, front engine cover, timing chain, timing gears, 99/01 cobra/03/04mach/aviator intake manifold, and a few other various things.

The various other things you niglected are either a new block or a machine shop modifying your block. They are not a direct bolt on to our block. This is a known fact. The only cost effective way to get 4v heads on a 2v engine is to swap out the engine.
