I've had this problem before...i had a bad battery..so i replaced it...Turns out the bad battery blew all of the negative diodes in my alternator so the new battery lasted all of a few days and the car died on me at a stop sign... Had to replace the alternator as well...Be careful with bad batteries...if your volts are ever running low get the battery tested...you could do damage to your alternator without realizing it... just a tip...

Be careful with that.. It's definately not the pulley though..

The battery or the alternator has never given me any problems untill i put the new pulleys in so I am a little confused on wether it is the alternator or the pulleys

I think your battery was on the way out and when you installed the pulleys and they slowed down the alternator, like they are supposed to and now the battery isn't getting as much of a charge from it.I would go to autozone and have them test your alternator before you buy a new one.

i work at autozone... You can take out the alternator and have it tested...I know this for sure... Im assuming they meant testing it with the alternator in the car...

And by the way, if your looking to buy an alternator your usually gonna spend about $1 an amp. An 80Amp Bosch ran me around 83 and my 130A ran me about $128. My uncle mentioned a dollar an amp to me one time and it held true at the store. Make sure you get a warranty thought because you can blow your amp over and over until you find the problem (if there is one)

As a side note.. if you have an Amplifier or subs in your car you may need to install a capacitor and maybe even upgrade your alternator.. Just wanted to give you a heads up in case that was the issue.

underdrive pullys make it so there is less strain on the engine, there for its making the altenator turn less per rpm,

i think if you just switch the altenator pully back to stock, you should be ok

a buddy of me has a mark VII, and he had to switch his altenator one back for the same reason
