The turbo kit is just as expensive as a supercharger kit. The problem is that, to fit the tubing for a turbo, you need to swap out your K member. This usually means converting your front end to coilover with a full tubular set up. So in the end, it costs you about $1000 in parts, more than the Supercharger would. If you want cheap power, do a supercharger. Instant boost and less hastle. Unless you really want the most efficient set up with the ability to go big (HP and Hellion base kits are both good to 700 hp). It is not worth the money to get a turbo kit. Its cool, but unless you can build the kit yourself, and cheap, its not worth it.

The price is comparable (sometimes cheaper)with most centrifugal systems if you built it yourself...

I would say it would be pretty safe to do a S/C install, but i would have a professional help you out with installing a T/C

There is more labor with a turbo.. What is your goal? if you plan to never make much over 400-450rwhp go with a supercharger. There are nice turn key kits for 3600 and will make 380ishrwhp. (MPH mongoose) most intercooled GT's at 10psi will make dam close to 400rwhp, at 12psi your looking at 425rwhp er so.. 10psi on a stock engine is about the most you'll want to run without running into problem after problem..
A stock bottom end is said to be able to hold 450ish rwhp on a every day basis.. there are cars making a lot more than this on stock engines, but they will not last.. Project Ice box in MM&FF made tons of power on a stock engine and they drove that car forever, but that was only by luck. I know of a local car that let go at 12psi.. Its actually on its 3rd engine now.. Turbo cars are a little harder to tune too..
