Misfire BAD

Driving around today after telling someone to buy a mustang because nothign ever goes wrong with mine.

starts bucking and misfing and shaking, acting all 4 cyl'ish. Pull over, first thoughts are coolant in my oil. Or shooting it out from cylinder 5. Checked and everything is ok. Unplugged some things and still nothing. sounds like a missing cylinder if anyone knows that sound.

Brought her home and rested and ate. Came back out and started messing with things... no lights or anytihng on. Removed cylinder 1 plug wire, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.... all firing in the boot.

Take cylinder 8 off the plug and dead silence and didnt misfire more. thought it was weird..... remove plug wire from coil pack and put screw driver in coil pack hole. Put plug wire on it and NO SPARK.

Dead coil pack ? They are after market PERFORMANCE IGNITIONS Screaming Demon.... 30k miles on them. ghey.

Bringing home my old coil pack from work and seeing if i have spark. Not sure what else it could be cause the coil pack hosts 3 other cylinders as well.... They are firing.

That sucks dude. I run stock coil packs and have never had a problem, they do their job well actually.

I only have 2 coil packs and usually the ford ones break down and crap out. Hence why i changed them. hahaha, they lasted longer than aftermarkets though.

yeah i diag'd it in my driveway last night in a short time.

Brought home my factory oem coil pack and runs like a charm now.

Yeah 98 the coil packs are problems no matter what FORD vehicle you buy. Crappy electronics just like everything else ford makes.

Now im approaching Performance distributors and trying to either get them to sned me a new one, or give me a discount on a new one.

If not im going to just buy a new one from them, i really like the gains i got from their package deal they do.

www.performancedistributors.com

Just go to the 4.6 ignition at the bottom and check it out. I gained .2 in the 1/4. Im not advertising for them, but noticed nothing when putting MSD's products on my dads cobra.... except his didnt break yet.
