Turbo's are more expensive to tune, work on and in parts. Superchargers are far cheaper.

go with the Charger....I always say american muscle should only be supercharged...unless yopu have over 70k on the engine, then leave it alone...

I put my supercharger on at 85k. I've heard of others putting them on at 100K+. If the motor has been maintained properly and hasn't been abused it won't hurt it.

I chose a centrifical supercharger basically because it is a bolt on mod. You do not have to change your exhaust or intake to get to 350+ rwhp. Centrifical superchargers are similar to turbochargers in that they build more boost as rpms increase. I believe that makes them a better choice for daily drivers who might have to drive in bad weather. You can find centrifical supercharger in your price range.

Turbos make way more power at the same boost, but many times are not street legal. They are not really harder to tune either and put less strain on the motor for the same RWHP. If I didn't have smog to deal with I would have had a turbo by far.

I am almost thinking about going the turbo route. Ill explain my reasoning. The HP twin turbo kit and the Hellion turbo kits all come complete with fuel system, whole front suspension including everything from coil overs to the caster and camber plates. I believe the HP twin turbo kit can be had for right around 6K. I think its well worth it IMO. either way Boost is awesome

Turbo is the known best way to go. Its just more expensive. If you are looking at the numbers. To get 500 hp. Its $6 Grand for the Turbo and $3.5 Grand for the super charger. You do the hp/$ computation on that. However, if cost is not an issue, you can get easily the best performance and efficiency through a turbo. All of our explanations have been with a budget in mind. Its stupid to plan without one.

just from my experiance with turbos and supers.. i am switching from my supercharger to a turbo unit so after wards i can give more detail.. but turbos are cappable of a lot more power it seems.. i was makin 600hp on my intercooled 347 supercharged motor but it was built tough.. and i could have went higher with the boost.. however at the same boost level the dyno shop is expecting me to peak 700hp on the same motor with a t70 turbo..

ive driven a turbo car and there fun! i will miss my blower tho.. however if i had to choose id be going turbo, just like I am..

I bet, maybe more. In Holdener's book he tested a terminator motor with the stock eaton at 14psi, then swapped to an 01 intake and put twins on it at the same psi. The TT made 253 more hp (830chp) and 203 more ft-lb (756).

One of the reasons that turbos can make great power is because they are not belt driven and so they don't 'rob' from the motor, like a traditional supercharger.
