I'm feeling the navigation system.... However IMHO Putting a system in a mustang is tacky especially in a s197. (Especially in a GT) It's a racing car. Put that system in your SUV or something where it would make more sense. That's just my opinion don't take it the wrong way. But I think all that money should go towards speed because that's what the car was made for and I'm hoping that's what you bought it for.

I am going to do stuff like full intake ram air, headers, high flow cat, and whole exhaust system. The GPS and sound systems makes it a good every day driver for me. I am air force and I drive all over the usa allot, and gps will help me there. Trust me tho, the amps, and subs will be removable with just a few clips. When i do go race on the track the car will be ready to go with in 5mins, with out the extra lbs of the subs and amp. |

looks like you picked everything out nicely.
get the pioneer headunit over the panasonic, i looked at both, and im glad i went with the pioneer. you really only need 1 of those subs in there. 2 is going to be WAYYY too much bass for that trunk, not to mention with 2 you would really nave no choice but to dynamat, and that shits heavy, not to mention the added weight of the additional sub. i have 2 JL 10W6's powered by 2 JL 1000/1 amps, and it is WAY too much bass, its already blown one deck lid off. not to mention the car is small and one type R, or W6 would be more than plenty. ifyou want a little more than the bump of 1, but 2 is too much, you might want to look into a 12" type X. alpine makes great stuff though.

ok 1 you cant go with 6 1/2 components up front cuz in the door is a 8in driver.. jl makes a component set basiclly just for the new mustangs.. its an 8in component set with mid, tweeters and crossovers.. and when goign with a component set you have to get an aftermarket radio..and in radios the z2 is the shit( im 21 and work at a highend car audio shop that just sales jl, pionner, hertz, and audison) and system wise dude just go with 2 13w3v2 and a jl 500/1 i promise you on everything that you will not be mad.. its not a shit load of bass but it gives you alot more than you thing, highend amp for the components and rear speakers get the jl 300/4...

As a pro installer and fellow Mustanger, here's my .02.
Go with the Z2. Aside from being a really good Nav unit, it is a HELL of a radio. Kicks the factory's butt all day and twice on Sunday. And get the Bluetooth add on if you have the phone for it. You won't be let down. The only change I might suggest is to stick with the PDX line of amps for your mids/highs, too. Your Subs only play 10% of the music you hear, you're going for moderate priced speakers all the way around and going for the cheapest 4 channel amp Alpine makes? Besides, they will match cosmetically. As for the factory 8" locations (if you have them) can make WONDERFUL midbass locations. With a few modifications, you can keep the factory grill for a factory look, or a good installer will need to build something to clean it up a bit. Ford was even nice enough to give you a good (not great) enclosure in the door, so no sound reflections are actually IN the door, making the imaging kinda nice. Ok, more than 2 cents, but just my opinion.
