brake rotors?

So today i was doing a visual inspection of my car during my break at work, and looked at the rotors, and they are grooved, all but the left rear.

Does this just mean that my pads are shot, and are creating grooves in the rotors?

I can probably get them reground, and new pads im guessing, how much do you think that would cost?

Thanks

if they're actual grooves in the rotors, then you need new pads, and rotors.

It will most likely be cheaper to replace 4 rotors and 4 sets of pads than to get it resurfaced. You could probably get 4 rotors for less than $100, and pads for less than $50

I'd get the zinc plated rotors off ebay or something so they don't rust and look like crap after awhile... they might cost a couple dollars more but beauty is everything hahah

Rotors

Yea, just replace the rotors. Todays rotors start out so thin they really can't be turned. They're disposable parts. Do yourself a favor and get good rotors. The cheapo, made in China rotors are no bargain. A lot of these warp very quickly.

Wrong. Getting brake rotors re-surfaced is pretty cheap. And new rotors and pads, which I just did cost me around $360. That is with parts from ford, which is the cheapest place to get them. If you really are going to replace it all, get some slotted rotors and some hawk pads. They are way better and you will be able to tell, and it won't break the bank.

yeah i general it's cheaper to get them turned (resurfaced) and even with todays rotors you can still turn them. and just because the have some grooves it's ok cause your pads are warrying the same. yes it's best to get the turned or replaced. but if you're not going for all out performance and and still just doing day to day driving i would wait until you're pads wear out to replace everything.

Okay thanks man. That's what i was figuring. As soon as they start to squeak, or i start having poor braking performance, im not too worried about it.

Check this page out and email them what you're looking for. i was given 4 Zinc Rotors, slotted and drilled for about 170! 13' up front and 11.5' out back. Good customer service. they also have warranty on them! 1 year against cracking or warping .
