First things first, what year is it? and since your planning a PI swap im assuming its a 96-98 GT correct?

unless its pretty modded i doubt anybody has done a PI swap. basic bolt on's is pretty much the first thing. catback, midpipe, headers, intake, gears, tb/plenum, tune, and then people worry about PI heads, and cams most of the time.
if your going to do it though might as well get a set of ported heads, and aftermarket cams to make the most out of the swap.

Since pretty much every monkey on here has told you everything EXCEPT the question you have asked. Look at the intake ports. If they are skinny and narrow you still have a NPI motor. If you have wide intake runners then you have a PI intake. Snap a quick pic of youre motor i can tell you if its PI or not very quickly. Im around these motors all day long
