Rear Break Issues

I just recently purchased a 1997 Cobra coupe and decided to do a brake job. Had no probelms at all with front change, but the rear ones have given me fits. I purchased the universal adapter for a 3/8 ratchet, and after over 2 hours felt certain that the piston was bottomed out. After multiple attempts I was unsuccessful in getting the caliper to clear the new pads. Any suggestions, tips, tricks would greatly appreciated.

the rear calipers can be a bear sometimes to compress. try pushing in on the tool while turning it. Also, make sure the parking brake is released

Go to Advanced Auto and rent their Master brake kit. Its a $100 deposit and you can keep it for 45 days and get your deposit back. Its easier to use, because it helps you create pressure while rotating the piston.

Dont overtighten the piston,or you can cause damage elsewhere. Did you take the cap off your master cylinder ? You have to relieve the pressure at the other end for the piston to turn correctly.
