Mustang problem
I have a Mustang GT ´01 and have a really big problem right now. On the weekend it ran only on 7 cylinders and I brought it in the shop. They made a diagnostic and after that they told me a ignition coil broke down. If they should fix it, it will cost me 350$. Ok, do it I need my car. They started the engine with the new coil and after 2 minutes the coil next to new one blowed up and smoked. Now the guys from the shop thinking there`s a cable problem. If I drive the car anymore it`s possible to destroy more coils or the computer.
Knows somebody more about this problem? Thanks |

Replaceing the coil is a "do your self job"...5 minutes or less...Don't lose the small rubber seal inside the connector.
Remove the coil pack and see if you have water build up. Die-eletric grease will fix that. If you replace the coil pack...stick with oem unless you replace them all at the same time. You may also want to replace the spark plugs as they may have issues.
