hey...........

alright i know i post alot of these srry bout that.
BUT i read up on the 09 Camaro SS and i heard that its supposed to have 500hp and i seen the vids of the concept and sounds beastly with the LS2. not to mention it looks pretty good
but i love the 04 cobra they way it looks and the whine of the of the SC sounds like a Jet flying by.

But what would u guys get if u where just going to do simple bolt ons on either of them(Catback,CAI/RAI)

and i know guys are going to stick to the Termi cause its a stang but think openly about it

Im really not a Camaro fan but that sounds good. I would honestly though still get a terminator.

that's a tough one..

for performance and availability of parts, i'd take the camaro, but as far as looks and exclusivity goes, i'd take the terminator

availability of parts? the car isnt even out yet, so there is no parts, plus the mustang aftermarket parts world has far more parts than the camaro ever has.

the car does sound great though. it probably would come with a decent flowing intake, and exhaust, GM seems to be able to do ok with how their cars perform stock. i would say you can still pick up 20-30RWHP from a better flowing exhaust, and intake though.

assuming a 500HP car with a 15% drivetrain loss thats around 425RWHP. which is 10 above the highest HP stock cobra ive seen dyno, and 30-70RWHP higher than what termi's typically dyno. not to mention the camaro will more than likely be heavier then the termi.

do basic bolt ons on both of them your looking at 445-455RWHP for the camaro with intake/exhaust, and 440-460RWHP for the termy with intake, pulley, and exhaust.

sure, you can probably do heads, cam, and full exhaust on that camaro and make 550RWHP, but you can do a twin screw on the termi, and have 650RWHP.

not to mention the current prices of termi's at $20-30K is a whole lot more appealing than the camaro which will probably be $40-60K. sure, your probably getting a nicer car, but for me its about power. plus i wouldnt buy a camaro until plenty of people have had them, and tried them, and the word on the street is good.

face it man, it's a chevy. it's gonna be a badass car, and yes, the availability of parts will be much greater than that of the terminator, assuming that the 2009 camaro will follow in the footsteps of most other chevrolets.

i dont think you realize the aftermarket market for terminator parts then, theres not a part on that car that cant be replaced, and cheap too.

look on lethal, dagostino, and all the other perts sites, and look ot the ratio of camaro/vette parts compared to terminator parts.

not to mention how well the terminators respond to mods, and the strong motor they come with from the factory

that camaro motor is more than likely pretty high compression that isnt going to want to have anything to do with boost.

BWAL, ur mistaken....

the aftermarket for Mustangs is huge compared to the aftermarket chevy has...........

the summit catalog has a section 2x as big for mustang then it does for Chevy

i do realize the size of the aftermarket for the terminators and i do realize how well they respond to mods, but to imply that the terminator is a better car is absurd..

here's how i look at it:

the terminator is a special edition car built by ford - of course parts are going to be more scarce for a special edition car than the parts of an extremely mass produced car (depending on the part needed).

dude, look at chevy. just about all of their parts are interchangeable between any car of any year. you can't deny that.

exactly what "aftermarket" are we talking about then? body kits? power adders? interior items? wheels?

i dont see why you think it would have any greater availability of parts.

you almost seem like your swinging from GM's nuts to me.

if i was swinging from GM's nuts, why would i own the mustang i own now? i have wanted a 5.0 for most of my life, it is one of my dream cars.

seems to me that you're just biased because you have a cobra. if you want to throw personal insults and assumptions around, then i could also say that you just have a big head because you think your car is faster than everybody else's, but i wont go there, because that would be rude.

and as i mentioned before, the availability of parts will most likely be greater because most chevy parts are interchangeable.

debating with you is like debating with a certain other member of this forum - you can't have a civilized discussion without attempting low blows

i dont think my car is faster than everyone elses, but i know its faster than most peoples. a 600+RWHP is not something most cars can touch.

BWAL, I disagree. It may have an LS2, but there are way more parts for the termie that slowmaros. As KC said practically everything on the termie can be replaced with aftermarket. The Camaro on the other hand, just came out, so parts will be limited. Also alot of Mustang parts are interchangable also.

but what i'm saying is you can't just take certain parts from your average ford fiesta and slap them on a terminator, but on the other hand, many many many chevy parts have been interchangeable on almost all of their car models since what, the '60s?

wait until the camaro has been out for 5 years (like the terminator has been right now) and then we can compare availability of parts.. the camaro isn't out yet, so all we can do is assume how available the parts will be, but looking through chevrolet history, i can make an educated guess that the availability of parts will be greater. i have a VALID REASON of why i think the availability of camaro parts will be greater, but everybody who is saying the terminator has more available parts is just saying that because they're biased.. they have no valid reason to think that.

think about it.. of course, RIGHT NOW, the terminator's parts are more abundant since the camaro isn't out yet, but 6 years from now, when camaro sales are well underway, we'll see who was right.

You need to comapre the GT's aftermarket to the Camaros because the termie is a limited production vehicle whereas the cum arrow isn't.

exactly, that's what i'm trying to point out.. we're comparing all camaro models to one single special edition limited prodution mustang model..
