I'm looking for some HIDs, and I have been looking around ebay. Anyone have experience with their HIDs, and which ones to get.

The E-bay HID's I have heard are crap. They work great for a short period of time, but then the Ballasts go out and you have to buy replacements for $80 a pop, and you might as well just buy the good one from American Muscle or a sight like that.

the purple HID's are 12000K. less output, but violet light.

as to Ebay HIDs being crap... I ran them in my mazda 6 for a few years before I got my Stang. Never once had issues. I believe I payed about 75.00 shipped for them.

You get what you pay for. Yours may have worked for your Mazda, but that is a differant kit, and it was a differant batch. I saw another thread on this same subject where atleast 3 different people had to go back and replace the parts and said it would have been cheaper to just buy the good kit. You can chance it and maybe be fine, or maybe have to go and spend an extra $160. It will work great for a while, no doubt about that. But there is no guarantee how long it will last. If I were doing the conversion, i'd get the ones from american muscle or another site people have had a good experience with.

americanmuscle or stangmods (havent used them) sells them. I'd get the dual beam kit 6k or 8k just me though

I have heard that they were not worth the money either...unless it is the ones with the stand alone setup where you wire them inyour selves....

I have bought 2 kits on ebay and the 1st one worked great and I never had a problem with it and I just bought another one and it came with only 1 bulb working.

just to let ya guys know 95% of the HID kits are made in the same factory for different companies... that being said there is a xenon hid on ebay for 69.99 shipped i plan on buying it because i have GTS blackouts and cant see my own lights with the highlights on

I have bought the ebay ones and have one bad ballast out of 6. 12000k and below, slowly fall off to a pale blue over time. I have bought a "30000k" light and it is pinkish in color.

my buddy has them in his 04 he paid like 120 on ebay and has had them for about 7 months, no problems

I have some McCulloch bulbs and ballists and went to XenonPros.com- The No.1 Source for your aftermarket HID Conversion Kit! which takes paypal!! I have had them for a year and there great! I put them in my GT's fog lights, as opposed to the headlights and love them! Might get another kit for the headlights.
