I ordered a precutt kit that is True Black and 20% tint from tintkits.com we will see how it ends up. I know how to install it, but knowing and doing are 2 completely different things.

Anyone know what causes bubbles? is it the window not being clean or just a shitty install. I have done stickers before, and it seems like they always end up having bubbles. Not sure if I'm just bad at it, or if there is something I don't know. Ive done it perfect on shit, and i'll still end up with a bubble or 2.

Definitely, unless a shop is having a sale or promotion that actually does good work. With window tinting, I would definitely ask around to see where other people have had their stuff tinted. It's all about the quality of work at the shop. Some places do fantastic jobs, some do very shitty jobs. Also, when you get your car tinted, ensure that you talk to the shop first about some kind of warranty, that way if it does start to bubble or peel, they will fix it free of charge.

I don't think you're doing it right. I would have it professionally done/fixed.

That was for vinyl stickers and such for our Hydroplane. I suspect that the paint and the inconsistencies in the sticker play a large role. But I just wanted to know if anyone knew some in depth info.

bubbles will be caused from improper cleaning, dirt, too much solution, too much water, improper installation, and sometimes weather. every once in a while will it be the tint, but is possible.

just as sweet said it could be the weather? could be the window itself or not enough tinting solution. I'm going to be honest it took me about a day and a half to get my back window right then to top it off at the very top the tint didnt stick so i had to get black vinyl and cover that up

So my Tint Kit came. It has a big freaking orange sticker that says "DO NOT BEND" and the thing is so horribly bent, they taped the place the tube split. F'n Rediculous. It was insured mail so we are going to get our money back from the post office. Just Sucks to have to wait for another week.

So whats the law out there? In Louisiana i think its no less than 20% or 30% on the driver and passenger windows but on the back and little side windows it can be as dark as you want it.

Lousiana Window Tint Law
Lousiana Tint Law Enacted: 1993
HOW DARK CAN WINDOW TINT BE IN LOUSIANA?
Darkness of tint is measured by Visible Light Transmission percentage (VLT%). In Lousiana, this percentage refers to percentage of visible light allowed in through the combination of film and the window.

Windshield Non-reflective tint is allowed along the top of the windshield above the manufacturer's AS-1 line.
Front Side Windows Must allow more than 40% of light in.
Back Side Windows Must allow more than 25% of light in.
Rear Window Must allow more than 12% of light in.

HOW REFLECTIVE CAN THE TINT BE IN LOUSIANA?
Similar to sunglass lenses, some tinting film contain metallic elements that help in reflecting incoming light and reducing the glare and heat generated by visible light.

Front Side Windows Must not be more than 20% reflective.
Back Side Windows Must not be more than 20% reflective.

OTHER LOUSIANA RULES AND REGULATIONS

Restricted Colors No colors of tint are explicitly banned.
Side Mirrors No restrictions.
Certificate Requirements Manufacturers of film need to certify the film they sell in the state. Ask your dealer if they are using ceritified film.
Sticker Requirements The sticker to identify legal tinting is required between the film & glass on the driver’s side window.

Here are the laws for all other states:

I live in VA which has a 50/35 percent law but I grew up in Michigan, where you can use any darkness you want. Sucky!
