ummmm... a year later and i already have a new edge

though i really want a notchback now for all around cheapness.

I remember when the SN Body came out after the Fox Body , it took a while for them to grow on everyone.
That said though, there is no such thing as a bad Mustang in my opinion.

Buy what you want, if you don't then you will always regret it, that being said I would buy a new edge 4.6. I own a 2001 gt, I bought it to build a sleeper, and sometimes I wish I had bought a 03-04 Cobra, although I understand what I was thinking when I bought the car I will never get past the 04 cobra with 33k miles that I turned down to buy my 01. It will haunt my dreams forever, personally I think that If you have a dream then work towards that and buy what you want, as they say patience is a virtue.
