I want to swap a 5.0 into my 1998 gti would build up my 4.6 but the blocks are lots of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ that i don't have so i was just wondering if this could be done.

honestly, if you're on a budget and want to do this, sell your '98 and buy a '94 or '95.

Bored and stroked 4.6 equals 5.0. you don't another block, and if you do iron block 4.6's are dirt cheap. Like about 200-300 dollars.

stick with the 4.6. like already said, bore it, stroker kits, its the better way to go. there is are reasons ford left the 5.0.
