Baught a 460 today 25$

looks like a 460 from looking at the water pump it come out of a van probaerly a very early 80 model or late late 70 with a automatic tranmission
dont know if its a c6 or not but probally is.. the motor is free it needs a distributor and carb by the looks of everything its a descent motor tell me what u think..

late 70s/early 80s is gonna be a dog of a motor from the factory due to the inefficient early emissions equipment. However, all that changes with the quickness with a proper rebuild. I'm sure with a good carb and exhaust, you'll have yourself a beast.

Auto tranny should be a C6, I don't know of any other auto tranny they put behind a 385-series motor, especially in that vintage.

It was going in a 72 model mustang i think it was but the guy said it woulda been to much work.. so i baught it.. anything on that motor is worth 25$ even the broken old Destributor haha

Throw a decent top end on there and you'll have yourself a real torque monster.

Thats my plan but if im going to biuld it i would rather do quite a bit to it.. take it apart clean it out make sure the walls are alright usually theres a reason why u get something that good that cheap right..

sometimes... def take it to get machined and worked over if plan on putting any kind of money into it

I have to figure out if its been Bored out or not and how far i mean seriously why would someone sell a engine and tranny for 25$?
