depends on the headers. I know MAC's do. it has to have a CARB sticker on it.

Not unless they have a CARB exemption number.

My JBA shorties passed, but they have the EO #. Without an EO# it wont pass the visual. Normally the visual includes a check for stock cats and the correct number of cats for that car. Smog rules SUCK!!! It should be as simple as blow clean= pass, because thats all that really matters. The CARB has become big business and getting your part thru the CARB rules to get an EO # can cost around $50K and take months of testing. Thats why many smaller CAI manufactures don't have EO #s.

EO# stands for Executive Order number. Every modification must be approved by executive order in California. Google California CARB to get a complete list of approved parts. I have heard that there are no long-tube headers or catted mid-pipes. You must be careful about superchargers. Some are approved for 99-00 GT but not the 01-04.

I couldn't imagine dealing with that, in Illinois if there isn't a CEL then you pass. Roll through with no cats all day long if you feel like it. Some areas don't even test you and the ones that do only test 96 and higher since they said the hell with the sniffer.
