Tach install Quick question please!!

Ok guys I need a little help.

I just installed a sunpro tach ( cp2012) I took the signal off my ecu. Same place as my raptor shift light & my msd window switch. But the tach won't rise above 800rpms Do I have to have a tach adaptor? And if so Why?

Please reply

Troy

oh now that i think about it you will need a tach adapter, the signal the tach needs is a 12v square wave pulse and the signal coming from that wire is a sine wave. The raptor shift light works there cause it is programed to read the sine wave and same with the window switch.

so in instance you are only reading off one coil right now. thats why if you multiply the max rpms the tach will go by 8 then it would read normal lol

your still gonna need a tach adapter cause the window switch is programed to read off one coil also. you can find them for around 40 bucks used
