Royal purple,Amsoil,Mobil 1,Red Line. I doubt you will actualy "notice" a difference. I use RP 5w20. You can go longer between changes though.

Most likely, but I doubt it will be a significant enough improvement for you to actually see. Synthetic oil *might* free up 5 hp on a 300 hp engine, which is going to translate to ~1.6% improvement... so 20mpg up to a whopping 20.32mpg. You'd probably see the same improvement running your oil a quart low (something that I only suggest in controlled environments, not for typical street driving).

That being said, I run full synthetic religiously in the Cobra: it may cost twice as much, but it's peice of mind for me, and that's worth $15 every couple months. In my 2.3L? I ran Napa brand oil because I could get it for free.

Mobil 1 Full Synthetic FTW!

It's so good you can't even feel the difference.....lol

Really though, you won't feel one thing going to synthetics, not remotely....it's just oil haha.

Amsoil ASMQT 0-20. Good for 25K, but I dump at 17, 500.

Also, I use an Amsoil filter as well. If you sign up as a preferred customer, you'll save a lot off the cost as well. I run this oil in my 99 Navigator and a 98 Volvo as well

Mobile 1 is the top synthetic. Royal purple is good too, but its way more expensive. As for you guys runing 5w20, I hope you have verified that with someone. In most places warmer than 50 degrees farenheit, if you are running your engine hard at all, you are risking your engine parts to oil breakdown. The higher weight is for higher heat. If you drive like a grand ma, its cool, but if you are getting your engine temps up, you are testing the limits. Just something to look in to.

5w20 is what is reccomended for the newer mod motors. they need the lighter weight for timming chain tensioners and cams. And while Mobil is good it is not even full synthetic anymore so to call it the top syn. is not realy acurate

Full synthetic Mobile 1 is Full synthetic. There are other Mobile 1 oils that you can get that are sythetic, but are really blends. The Full synthetic is just that. People think that synthetic and full synthetic are the same thing, when really alot of companies just put out oil that is less than 50% synthetic but since it has some synthetic in it, they say its synthetic. The only way to be sure is to get the FULL Synthetic, and get it from a decent company like Mobile 1 or Red Line or Royal Purple.
