4.6L Miata? Whaddaya Think?

I'm pulling out my stock 4.6 out of my '03 GT and I don't have anywhere to put it. So I thought a Miata would be a good place. I know back about 10-12 years ago they built a Monster Miata with a 302 and that idea popped into mind when i was looking for a place to "store" my old engine.

Anyways......has anyone ever read about or witnessed this swap?(No "I know a friend of my brother's cousin's aunt's husband's next door neighbor's son who did it")

I thought it would be a pretty cool project.

hmm never heard of anyone attempting it but hell that'd be fast. not to mention unique. a dumbass in a miata was revving his engine next to me at a light and i kept going forward to let him no i was up to race and the faggot goes the speed limit. i gave him the finger and floored it

whats the differance? mines a 2v too.

i'm taking almost everything off my car including the tranny so i don't think it would be too difficult of a job. just a matter of transfering everything and making it fit. i haven't totally decided yet tho. i'll have to do a little more research first.

let me see if one of my friend that works with me little brother don't want it cuz he actually asked me about it like a month ago. but if he don't want it and you pay the freight, its yours.

i've decided against the miata cuz i'm getting a house in the spring and i don't wanna get any more shit to move than i already have so it'll be on the back burner for now.

40k but i will tell you the last 10k are hard supercharged miles, but i'll have the guy who's building mine go thru it when we get ready to put the new one in just to be sure. hell,i just wanna get rid of it.i don't want to have a whole motor sittin in the garage. the only reason i'm gettin a new motor is cuz i wanted to go over 20lbs of boost and not have to worry about anything. plus a little more HP. heh

it will probably be the first of the year before i get ready for the swap.

I wanted to put a 289 in a TR6. Those are tanks. I wanted to make it look like a A/C Corba.

Any news??? Isn't the 4.6 a lot wider than the 302?? The 302 is a tight fit the way it is, but you never know. I am also looking for a Miata so I can transplant the 302 & T5 that're currently in my 89 LX... I love my Mustang, but apparently someone driving an 18 wheeler didn't. I don't really want to sell it, so I can either:
1. buy a v8 foxbody with no engine,
2. buy a 2.3 and convert it,
3. rob a bank & drop 12k for a factory 5 kit,
4. build a Monster Miata.
The factory 5 would be badass but its not something that could be driven everyday... if I wanted another 5.0 fox it would be cheaper to buy the whole thing and sell mine for parts... then theres the innocent-looking v8 monster mazda... a tempting option.

I remember seeing a show with the guy from that "Trucks" show, Stacey, doing a 4.6 swap into a miata along with some body mods to make it look like something a lil more old school.
I used to have a miata and as gay as people probably thought it was it was a pretty damn fun car and cheap as balls to run/maintain. I can only imagine how fun it'd be if it had some real power.
I guess the main bullet point here is: DO IT!
