TPS probs

can anyone tell me precisly how to adjust my TPS? when driving at a constant rpm say 40MPH at 2800rpm all of the sudden itll jsut start driving like shit.. and also just a few days ago i was racing a stock GT but we went all the way i hit 130-140MPH redlining every shift. then when i got off of it and started breakin the car died which was pretty scary.. so i let her roll to a stop and prayed to god.. HAHA but it immediately cranked back up with no problem at all. Matty told me these were symptoms of my TPS being unadjusted since i've added the accufab TB and plenum .. he said i need a certain voltage and it easy to adjust but he didnt know the specifics.

can anyone help me out here? thanks!

you can adjust the butterfly on ur tb that might help its a little allen head bolt around ur throttle linkage but it sounds like ur having an iac (idle air control) problemif its not ur tps then try and cleaning out the iac with carb cleaner then spray it with a little wd40 to prevent it from sticking

Ok i got 5V out of one wire.. then the other 2 wires i ddint get any reading at all. All 3 of them are black so I dont know which is which! When I unplug it from my tb its the contact all the way on the left. Does this mean anything? Should i have my car running when I test it?

Thanks

p.s. i still cant get over the sexiness of ur car matrix haha

BTW: my car all of the sudden is taking a little longer to start up.. like it has to turn over a good 3 or 4 more times before it cranks.. before just a couple of days ago it wouldnt hesitate to start right up immediately is this another symptom of the TPS? i hope so..

Ok i used a needle this time and got a better reading... aparently i wasnt probing the insulation. on the first wire i got 5.0, second wire i got .96, 3rd wire i got .018

does that mean my tps is good? the .018 kinda threw me offf

turn the key on, leave the plug on the TP sensor. probe the middle wire and probe one of the other 2 wires. then sweep the tps sensor and watch. if the voltage changes, you found the right second wire. with the throttle closed it should be near .95v (no more than 1.00) then sweep it to full throttle very slow and see if their is any dead spots in the reading. if so you know you need a tps

alright matrix.. everything seems to be okay for the tps it was a smooth sweep all the way up to 5V ..

however AGAIN today on the interstate about 20 minutes ago actually.. (brand new granatelli coil packs installed) racin a 350z up to about 120-130MPH at least i wasnt watching the speedo but i dont think i got passed that.. but as soon as i was a pretty good ways ahead of it i let off and started puttin the breaks on.. then all of the sudden it got really hard to brake and no power steering and realized my car died... Same thing that happened when i raced just a few days before. Could it be my Governor? have you ever heard of this issue? this time i was on the interstate so i couldnt exactly roll to a stop so i cranked it back up rolling at about 80mph (i had the clutch in) and it started with no problem at all i revved up a little bit to match popped it back in to 4th and had no trouble at all we even raced a few more times from a roll and had no issue (although i didnt get it back up to those speeds)

is there a governor issue on the car that i dont know about thats killing something? ive never had this problem before but the then again ive never raced that fast

hmmmm. i never heard of a problem like this. i wouldnt think the limiter would kill the motor, just cut fuel or ignition till it comes back down. have you checked to see if there e was any codes in it?

also had some o2 sensor malfunction codes and even bought a new o2 sensor but now all of the sudden im not getting that code anymore?
