just a streetable drag radial that will get me to the track (about 30miles) nothing to serious as i have a stock gt rear end i dont want to shatter an axle or anything. but i would like a tire that would hook up resonably well... just curious as to wether the goodyear f1s were worth my time.

Your going to have a hard time getting a 18" tire to hook decent.
Just not enough sidewall to absorb the shock. If your willing to go down to a 15" rim.... The Mickey Thompson Drag Radials are hands down the best DR out there.

18 inch tacky track tires? not gonna happen. it is hard to get a 17 inch DR to get the job done on some days. 15 and 16 inch rim and tire combos will be the best bet.

can anyone suggest certain tires for everyday use. i have 03 cobra rims on my 02 GT, and my tires have seen better days. i probably will have to get a new set before the end of the year, but i don't know which brand to go with. i am really just looking for a tire that is for everyday driving, not worried about taking it to the strip. are the kuhmo ecsta's any good? or should i shell out the money for some g-force's or eagle f-1's? also, where is a good site online to find tires cheap other than discount tire. thanks

Yeah im needing new tires soon too! I would like a tire that can be used as a daily driver, but also perform well at the track. I want to keep my 17 inch rim, and would like a tire that lasts for I am only 15 and don't have enough money to keep buying tires. Thanks

Just get a wide (275/315) street tire and it should provide all the traction you need on the street.
