Why can't sell a Foose?!!!

I need help from experts. I have been trying to sell a Foose Mustang for months now. I have it listed in in the classifieds, ebay, newspaper, everywhere. I'm cheap selling it a hundred over invoice. So I figure I have put it out ther, the price is fair, it's brand new so there is nothing wrong with it. What else could it be? My boss wants to know why I can't sell it, especially if I'm giving it away. Is the Chip Foose something people don't want? It's not supercharged, but for the price I'm selling it you can add one. Here's the kicker...it's auto. Is that what kills it? That's the excuse I've been using. But it's only buying me time. Surely, someone wants auto, right?

i think auto's in mustangs aren't very practical unless you're runnin high hp or bracket racing for consistency. but wording in an ad has alot to do with selling it.
like "one of a kind" and phrases to make people think that alot of other people want it. you know how people want something more if other people want it too. this may sound kinda crazy but if i couldn't sell it i would enter it in a few car shows with a for sale sign on it.
you might win a few trophies and maybe some cash.that might help you sell it and plus it'll be around the biggest concentration of people that would be interested in it.

good luck

I like the car show idea. I had a customer once that would tell me every time he won one he would get an offer. But could I do that? It's brand new and I'm not really the owner.

Foose stang = All show...No Go.

Why would anyone want to pay that much for a Foose Mustang when they could buy a regular GT and make it a lot faster and just as good looking for less money.

Then again.....there's a sucker born every minuet.

It is a lot more design than performance. What about the collectors side, there weren't many made and Foose is a big name. Does that matter? If it had a blower it would be more expensive, but would it sell faster? If we added a blower to it, we would have to do it here at the dealership and it would be more expensive than an average person could add one somewhere else. Therefor, the price would go up. Would it be worth it? Or, would I still be sitting on it with more $ invested?

They are buying the Cobra because it delivers a fair amount of power, performance and a level of exclusivity at a moderate price right off the show room floor....with out having to turn a wrench.

The Foose Mustang is nothing more than a body kit, wheels, and some other mis. odds and ends at an inflated price.

I think you get some bang for your buck, add a supercharger and you have a car as nice and exclusive as the Cobra for less$. Take a look at mine and tell me what you think and any advice on the listing would be awesome...there is no reserve.

You and I must have different ideas of what "bang for your buck" is...

I'm not trying to be an ass....I'm just saying why I think the Foose Mustang is way over priced for what it is.

Foose Stallion Mustang Specs are below:

* Foose designed body with a modified hood, side molding, revised grille, fascias, custom side marker lights, side “C” pillar scoops, etc.
* Rear aerodynamic spoiler
* Optional custom graphics using DuPont’s Hot Hues finishes
* Foose designed 20” custom aluminum wheels
* 20″ ultra high performance Z-rated tires
* Racing inspired front and rear coil springs, shocks, dampers and rear sway bar
* Baer Brakes front calipers (optional); Eradispeed cross drilled rotors front and rear
* Ford Racing Performance Parts high flow Axleback exhaust with mufflers
* Custom embroidered seats with dash & trim enhancements
This basically amounts to a body/paint/suspension package that would get its already over weight butt handed to it, in a drag race, by a stock GT.

Your asking ~$45,000 ???

For alot less $$$$...anyone can buy a new GT and slap an aftermarket suspension, breaks, and body kit on it.

As far as "add a super charger" and comparing it to a Cobra....

Try again.

Ive seen many 03-04 Cobras sell at ~$25,000 and they are light years ahead of the Foose in performance and value.

IMO...the Foose Mustang is nothing more than domestic "Rice" at an inflated price.

the point i was making is exactly what you said, "without having to turn a wrench"
some people out there have more money than time and/or sense.

i agree about the "nothing more than a bodykit" thing

I get what your saying about the body kit. I'm not asking $45, that was just the Buy it now = MSRP. $39.8 is what we are trying to get for it. I sold a Regency conversion with less ads for the same price.

Ohh, I almost forgot all the adds will be covered under factory warranty. That's worth something, What about the car show idea. I'm not familiar w/that kinda thing. Would I have a chance?

like i said above.....i was only saying that some people would rather buy a car with a blower already on it than put one on themselves.

I think most will conceive that the Foose Mustang is perceived as a more show then go automobile. What you have to say to yourself is what would really make this car appeal to the many Mustang fans out there???

Well most like the ideal of a factory performance car, one that's bad ass from the start, has a warranty and one that they don't have to sink any more cash into after they bought it. The Foose Mustang fills all the categories but the performance one. It looks very nice, is a very exclusive automobile, one that will likely not be seen again my another owner in there town. It has the better brakes, tires, wheels and paint with graphics, now just add some power.
I would go to your boss and explain to him what is wrong with the Foose car and tell him you would like to take a chance and add a Kenny Bell blower. You think they would be able to make more money by increasing the cars horsepower, there by increasing the cars appeal.
Who wouldn't want a Chip Foose car that looks as nice as it does, and can run with anything on the road. I think you have a winner in the making. Now just convince your boss.

To clarify....

Three main reasons a Stock GT would beat a Foose Stallion in a drag race.

Foose weighs considerably more than a GT
Foose "road race inspired" suspension sucks for drag racing
Foose does not make hardly any more HP/Tq than the GT, despite its CAI and cat back upgrade.

The Foose Stallion would, however, do much better in the twisties and stop/break a lot better.
