SOHC 4.6 to DOHC 4.6

Ok, so this question is actually regarding a 95 T-Bird rather than a mustang, but i have a mustang project goin so please dont hate me for this.

This car belonged to my dad before he passed away and it was our dream and goal to build a sleeper. He left me with a 95 T-Bird LX 4.6L SOHC, and in loving memory of him i want to convert it to a Supercharged DOHC 4.6L with the Tremec T56 transmission behind it, basically the engine and transmission out of a 03 SVT Cobra Mustang.

First off, Is this even possible? The car has an automatic transmission right now.

Second, What kind of parts and labor am I looking at and cost? The cost of the labor is not an issue, I have full access to a shop.

The time and effort involved is also not a large issue, this is a project car that i'm gonna take my time with and i want it to be right, it's a highly sentimental project.

Thank you for your time and knowledge.

i think your best bet would be to find a complete motor/tranny and computer out of a 03-04 cobra. theres usually some on ebay.

I have only done limited research but that seems to be the most cost efficient way not to mention everything i'll need will be there. Thanks for tip, i kinda overlooked that.

P.S. I love your anti-ricer comment, its awesome!

im not sure if the dohc head will fit but i am going to go and do some looking around. anyways like sonic siad, the cheapest way would be to buy a complete cobra motor and transmission and make sure you get the complete wiring harness. it will not run with the thunderbird wireing harness/

2004 Cobra engine almost brand new... Not sure if it comes with a tranny or not but comes with supercharger... if u were to buy this engine from ford youd end up payin 13-15k.. this motor will prbably go for under 5
