Is a 97 T-Bird motor the same as 97 Mustang 4.6

I have a bad motor in my 97 GT 4.6 has 140k miles, a buddy has offered to give me his 97 Tbird motor 4.6 100k real cheap, but has blown head gasket. Will this swap work, and what would you do with this motor, I'm not looking for hot rod motor but a nice 13 second car?

Any input would be appreciated

Thanks,

Paul

i dont see why it wouldnt work. i would do a pi swap. heads, cams and intake manifold off of a 99+ 4.6 motor. and that would be a good time to do it since you gotta tear that motor down a little bit anyways. oh and get some 4.10 gears also that will help you get down into the 13 second area.

theres a few minor differences, I dotn remember what, but every time I look up parts at work theres a few things that differ, Not saying parts wont swap but I know they arent excactly the same.
