call the dealer or try to call the manufacturer and have them look it up in the system using the vin. When I matched my paint, the dealer had to use my Vin number to make sure it was the exact paint, then he had to order it. I think that is the only way to do it, plus you cant go wrong if they fuck up the color.

Even then it might not be an exact match. When I had my hood painted they had to blend in the color onto the fenders as well.

My car is at the shop as we speak and they are having to blend the hood as mentioned above with the fenders just to be safe.

Not to veer off topic, but thats really the only way to ensure color match is to blend. Each paint code has different variants. For EX: UA is Ford black. But there is a UA variant with a bit of red in it. Not enough to notice just in passing. But had T-bird come into the shop and another painter painted it straight black and you could tell it wasn't the right variant. Like said above, even putting in a VIN for a vindicator won't always ensure the proper color. Depends how it was sprayed, distance/air pressure/flash times/reducers/activators. Everything plays a roll. Panel painting is a no-no.
