thinkin about running nitrous...
So I am deciding whether or not to go the S/C route or the Nitrous route. I am completely undecided. but lets say i decide to go nitrous. I was thinking about NX 100 shot( do i need forged pistons to handle it or is my stock engine going to hold up? cant afford to pay for anything over like 1500) but what would be a list of everything I need/ prices. any help greatly appreciated.. thank you!

Search it man, there is a topic a week about this. but a quick answer is no you won't need to go inside the motor for a 100 shot. you will spend most of that 1500 for a good setup with heater, window switch, colder plugs, and a tune if you do it the right way and don't cut any corners you can spray that 100 shot all day and be good to go. Just remember if you cut corners you can be looking at engine damage so get everthing you need.

No you won't need injectors for the 100 wet shot. make sure you get a good window switch as well. And as for the bottle heater get a pressure controled one not a temp controled. Dyno Tune has a great pressure heater setup and its fairly inexpensive. Thats the only heater I run. I was running a dual 10lb bottle setup with 2 dyno tune heaters and one dyno tune pressure sender. It worked flawlessly.

the arming switch is up to you, its personal when it comes to that. The window switch controls what rpms the nitrous will spray. so lets say you want it to only spray from 3500-5500, then you just set it for 3500 rpm to come on and 5500 rpm to go. I reccomend the MSD digital RPM window switch, its the easiest to use and you can adjust your on/off rpms with just a touch of a button. It is a good investment because if you spray too early your can have a backfire or blow a hole in the piston and if you spray too late, like if you hit the rev limiter on the spray, you will be in a very lean situation and it will almost definatly pop the motor. You want to shut it off a couple hundred rpms before rev limiter and you don't want to spray before 3k rpm. So if your rev limiter is 5800 lets say then set your window swithc for like 3200 on and 5500 off, that will give you a good starting point and you will be able to make adjustments from there. also when you do more mods and the car can make power higher in the rpm band then you can spray a little longer with a higher rev limiter. Make sense?

i say S/C over nitrous. The s/c doesnt need to be filled and is always there for you. But it will be a hell of a lot more though.
