Will This Work (Bassani And BBK)

Ok My car has stock manifolds and Bassani high flow catted X pipe and flowmaster exhaust with dynomax mufflers. But if you guys are familiar with the bassani high flow catted x-pipe you no the cats come off and its just the x so you can run long tubes with no cats ????? ( Thats what Bassani makes it sound like on there web site ) so im assuming that if i get some BBk long tube headers they will work ? But now im confused because cause will that line up cause for Bassani headers are another 200 dollars and im a broke teenager with a lot of dreams lol...... and how far will the long tubes extend under my car cause if you take off the cats there is a huge gap from were the long tubes would need to fill and i dont think there that long? would i need a like a pipe to connect or what im so confused and i dont want to make a bad decision and something not fit or work when your spending that kind of money so any input would be appreciated a lot

I think if you go with the Bassani mid pipe you have to buy there mid length headers. If you do BBK long tubes you'll need a BBK mid pipe. It's the same with Mac long tubes, you need a Mac mid pipe. I could be wrong though. I had Mac long tubes and a Mac o/r h on my old Gt. I'm sure there is someone that knows more about Bassani than I do.

From what I have seen, most LTs are not interchangable with other brand mid pipes. And like 1stockgt said, I think that you would have to use Bassani's mid length headers.

For most, if not every exhaust brand, shorty headers come to the stock location, and so you can run any h/x pipe which exits at the stock location for any catback. From my experience with longtubes, everybody has a design that is a little different, and they all seem to exit at different locations. While you could get a custom setup, the best is to use your brand's shorty h/x pipe to exit properly to meet up with your catback.

I have their catted X-pipe, and it's setup like this:

Pipe that connects to the stock manifold -> clamp -> your choice of either a straight pipe about a foot long, or cats (both come included in the Bassani catted X-pipe kit) - clamp -> rest of the X-pipe.

It doesn't mean that you can remove the cats and hook up the long tubes to it, it just means that the cats are easily interchangeable with straight pipes...although it does sound possible.

Emerson (LastCallRacing) is on his sc'd 96GT.

Great sound, great performance as he gained what he wouldn't with a shorty, and almost exactly what he would have from a longtube.
