Best Motor To Build On a Budget...

Ive decided im in he market for an engine to build. Its going to be built over a fairly long period of time and I cant decide what motor I want to go with. Do I want to go with a 4.6 2v, a 5.0, a 351, or build my v6 (you might laugh but theres someone on 3.8mustang.com making 650 rwhp). Im leaning toward the modular 4.6 or the 5.0. What can I build the cheapest? I would have thought that the 5.0 would but ill end up needing a new block if I go with that route because I hear that they start to go around 400-500 hp, My goal is to in time be making 500-600 rwhp.

the 351 is the best bang for the buck.most of the parts interchange with the 5.0 and its stronger too.
